Orr's, Outdoors, and Oscars

Oscar weekend we went to Midway with the Orr's for the weekend. It was quite lovely.
The boys and I went snowboarding:

We enjoyed a pleasant Sunday family walk:

where we visited the awesome ice sculpture things

And of course, we had a Oscar red carpet fashion show where you had 2 minutes to find a fancy outfit to wear..I got lucky with my outfit being there, but Spencer...just don't ask (but of course, he won the competition).

We we enjoyed sparkling cider and chocolate covered strawberries (homemade by Julie and DELIGHTFUL!)

And whoever guessed the most correct Oscars won...of course I got the trophy filled with chocolate and money!

Fun in the SOUTH

I visited my sister and her family in Alabama last month. Lindsey had a book to write or something, so I left my school and husband in Provo and attempted to be mother to her children for a while. I love my nieces
Ryleeand Talin too much and adored meeting my newest niece Logan. She's only a couple months old and she was the SWEETEST.
I had a girls night with Linds which included Mexican food, books and hot coco, and a store that gave me the creeps. I had a three hour, really fun trip to Target with all three girls while their parents had a valentines date night. I straightened Rylee's hair what seemed like everyday and fake put makeup on Talin every time she saw me get ready. It snowed...it snowed! Tried to get away from that, but it followed me. Rylee and I made the most of it.

Rylee soon decided she hated the cold...notice

I had photoshoots with the girls and they did ballerina performances for me.
Tally's song and dance. Rylee's ballet and modeling.

Sisters <3

There was this adorable kids hair cut place where we took Tally to help out her self hair cut called Sweet and Sassy. The cutest thing ever. They give the girls sparkles in their hair, a sparkle tattoo and a sucker. AND there is a run way. Rylee scares me when she walks on that thing...she is a sassy 19 year old in a 5 year olds body.

Rachael James and I met up in ALABAMA and took the girls to the mall. It was far to wonderful and I miss her dearly from across the country. My mom was so confused why Rachael James was there...she lives there mom! No coincidence.

I thought I was exhausted and ready to go home, but I was so sad as Tally did her last song of Glee on the way to the airport. Motherhood was a fun adventure, but now I will just play auntie Rachel when I see them next.

Pre Study Spill

Current pondering state:

'Bout to get my study on between classes and need a get away first.

-In the last 6 days I've been to Pheonix back to Salt Lake, then to Kaysville, then to Salt Lake, then to Provo, back SLC, then to Vegas, back to SLC, back to Provo, up to SLC and back to Provo again. And it's up to Midway tonight and SLC tomorrow. My brain hurts now.
-I made cake last night just so I could eat two bites of the batter. Delicious, but...who wants the cake now? Seriously who wants it?
-Spencer and I have been in the same state and not in the last 6 days and somehow haven't been in our apartment together at the same time.
-My sister's launch party was a hit...pics will come when I find my memory card adapter. Scattered me
-I somehow craved artichokes at 10:30 this morning during class. So delightful, but very odd.
-Yesterday I had a stress attack (because I haven't been in the same place for more than one full day so I am so out of it) and my ears were on fire. Somehow all the stress rises and stays in my ears and it burns. I'm like that girl on mean girls who can feel her chest and "know when it's raining"...feel my ears if you'd like to know my stress level. Current temperature=just above mild.
-Britt did my hair this week and for that I am grateful, as are my locks.
-I REALLY am excited for school to be over...only 4 more weeks and then summer and I'm donezo.
-March madness is exactly that this year...MADNESS! My bracket is a joke now after just the first day. And although it was a crazy exciting first day, I can't take that much anxiety at once. Will everyone just have blow outs today...thanks.
-Oh and props to the Cougs for pulling it out. Mountain West looked good yesterday, real good, the stress and anxiety of those four games ESPECIALLY worked me. But props to the conference.
-I think I'm ready for spring now Utah, snow is coming tomorrow (aka slush), and I'm only ok with that because we still have to use ski passes, but once we go, lets cut a deal for sunshine...ok

-FOR ALL YOU UTAH LOCALS: My sister is having a book signing/reading in Salt Lake tomorrow at the King's English bookstore. It's located in the Sugar House area at 1511 South 1500 East. It starts at 2:00 (reading first) and I think goes until 4ish or something. Come and meet the fabulous Lindsey Leavitt and see/purchase her sparkly pink book!

-Now studying/people watching I must go

Buy it for your nieces and sisters and young women.

(See how excited Tally is for her mommy's book!)

I'm so proud of my sister and amazed at her talent.
It is so unreal to me.
It is unreal to me that she can write hundreds of pages in a book and I kill myself writing 5 page papers.
She is a successful person in her career and family.
Always a role model to me.
Can't wait to buy her book.

Hermana Kimberlie Michelle Rooney

SO, my bestest home girl is now a sister. Sister missionary that is.
A while back Kim got her call to the Texas San Antonio Spanish Speaking Mission.

It's always interesting waiting to decide where someone will serve when you have the whole world to pick from.
The second I met her freshman year I knew she'd be a great missionary, especially since she knew that's what she wanted to do. Everyone who knows Kimi knew that she would be gone at this time. She was going to serve a mission, that's just how it was.

Sure enough she has finally made it to the point we have been talking about for 4 years.
I really am so proud of her and so incredibly grateful to have had her as an example and shoulder as we moved away from home and started new lives. She has honestly been such a strength in my life and I feel a little sad without her. Letters are fun though and I feel like I am a giddy girl waiting for her missionaries letter every Thursday. She always says the perfect things.
I am reliving my missionary phase from freshman year in a VERY different way!
Um, yeah I'll admit it, I have a missionary ok! And I am waiting.
I am in Provo and she is in Provo...but there is a fortress between us!!! Don't think I won't find a way around it!
So...I miss her. Kimi was my wing man. I'd appreciate anyone stepping up to the plate because for some reason we all struggle in the seeing each other department. Kim was my single homie so we could act like roomies together. Not to say I don't love the husbands attached to my girls, but she didn't have someone else to cater to...so was more willing to drive around Provo with me while I ran errands to keep me from boredom. Thank goodness. We all need some female time together...come on!

If you will be in the Provo area at anytime or are currently I will buy you something sparkly if you come entertain me for a while. Any takers? Thanks.
