Basically anytime I can steal Spence away for large amounts of time, I make sure we make something/anything out of that time.
I usually also make excuses for him to have large amounts of time so I can do that.
Friday night, date night, was dinner and the temple.
The temple was SOO packed. Multiple stakes, multiple couples, CRAZY busy.
We decided on sealings and did some names from our ward.
The sealer was adorable and it was such and enjoyable time.
I'm was also so happy that my knees permitted me to.
We followed that up with a red box and a treat from the store.
Have you seen The Words?
I saw it with my mom after my surgery, I may have been heavy on loritab, but I was obsessed with it.
Spencer said it was "good" but depressing.
I loved it. I recommend it. Mostly so you can tell me if I was on drugs ;)
Saturday we went on a bike ride.
MY FIRST BIKE RIDE by the way
(well I broke rules once and rode a tandem with my brace...)
We love cruising, but Buddy hasn't permitted me to do so yet.
Permission was granted and biking was had and it was AWESOME.
The area we live in is super convenient for that lifestyle, so that's nice.
We proceeded with what is now a traditional Saturday for our pair.
We biked to the library for some returns and browsing.
Always makes me happy and inspired.
Then across the lot for picnic lunch date at Costco.
We ventured inside, but did not have to worry about purchasing because I forgot my card, so we snuck in. We pulled a fast one on them! We played with toys, made up excuses why we needed everything, sat and love on "our couch" which we will someday buy, and sample to our hearts content.
Below - Spencer bumping to the Bose...he danced and made my heart smile <3 p="">3>
"CANNONBOMB"
We nail that everytime
We live right on the San Diego River. There is an awesome river walk/path there and we cruised it.
We cruised it to the grocery store and to watch the sunset.
Yup, I'm a sunset whore. Get used to it.
See the plane flying off into forever?
I held my breath the whole time it soared in front of the sun.
It had such a better view than me!
I MIGHT have pretended this was the duck version of Spencer and I watching the sunset...
Picked up some necessities at the grocer.
Saturday night I had this gem of an outfit on to stain some furniture.
At one point Spence looked away from the TV and said to me, "WOW Rach...you are a winner right now. You are just winning." He can say the right thing that cracks me up to the core.
Sunday was stake conference. It was good, but mostly we were inthralled by the perfectly behaved children in front of us that were KILLER colorers. We just kept watching what colors they would do next, see if they'd stay in the lines. They were so spectacular. I mean...
49er's game was watched (I won't pretend I'm a die hard, but I represent for my boo)
I mostly watched him watch it intently. And soaked in all his reactions.
If you know Spencer (even my family) you know he's pretty even tempered all. the. time.
Not too many sudden passion outbreaks or loudness...
man I wish I would have recorded it - actually I tried to, but he was done by then
(It happens that quick) He was so loud and so excited even I was shocked.
He might have almost hit through a wall he was so stoked. He like high fived it.
It was a moment I'll remember and cherish forever
That night I got to work on a project that's been waiting for me for YEARS.
I got a sewing machine for Christmas and am a COMPLETE amateur, but am excited to give it a go.
Overwhelmed, but excited.
Here's just a little sneak peak.
SPY ANY SHIRTS YOU REMEMBER??
It's fun to go through them all and I'm overly sentimental, so it's great.
Expect pictures...probably in another 5 years...I'm not great at follow through.
Monday, in honor of the hard work Martin Luther King did....hold up - side note - He is the man and it's funny to me that the day is celebrated with no sort of tradition to him except people maybe looking up his beautiful words or something, I wish there was a tradition for it, I feel guilty thinking of it as a day of freedom...well, I guess that's my "tradition" answer...so, TO FREEDOM! I toast. And we toasted to that by beaching it. We had a warm week after some rain and will have rain again next week so the last couple weeks have been so nice.
It was a sweet day.
Hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend (or just the holiday) in some way!
